Sho My ZenAge 4yrs
Breed Paint/Quarter Horse Gender Mare Color Bay Overo Height 15.0 Sired By Xehner Out Of Rev that Sho Maternal Grandsire Sho Stopper Buybacks & Breeder Kalla Hawk of Hawk Ridge Contract Sho My Zen aka "Xena" is an absolutely phenomenal mare. With a healthy combination of quarter horse and paint bloodlines, we are extremely proud to bring Xena home. While at first glance, Xena appears to be more of the halter horse type, we don't buy halter horses. Xena is a remarkably well conformed mare, with all the necessary equipment for a working horse powerhouse. While she is muscled quite nicely, we really appreciate the way she moves and her outstanding agility. |
While Xena is a wonderful horse to train and deal with daily, we can't help but notice her 'cowsense'. As with any true performance quarter horse that Whitewood Mannor will buy, it is imperative that they have this bred in desire. Xena is no exception as her demeanor truly suprises you when you point her on that calf as she goes from the willing and docile horse we are used to, and changes into the "Warrior Princess" at heart. It's always nice to see a horse that really wants to 'get' the cow, and she is all over them from start to finish. Also, we really enjoy her cross of lineage as her halter pedigree gives her the correct conformation she needs to perfrom, while her overall foundation background has truly given her the speed and quickness for her to make up for mistakes in cutting or really show off in the reining patterns. Her personality, though, is truly what makes this mare shine. With an attitude that is truly about work, she stays focused and remains light and responsive, really giving her an edge in the reining patterns as the judges always love her extreme transitions in the fast to slow circles. The rocking chair lope says alot about this mare as she can go on forever with her truly 'powerhouse' hindquarters.
The Lineage
Sho My Zen's sire, Xehner, is a truly remarkable SIM paint showhorse, and sire. As a showhorse, Xehner's record speaks for itself with numerous Reining, Cutting, Roping, Working Cow Horse, and Halter championships, and the Hall of Fame status to go with it. Xehner is truly one of the best stallions we could have asked to aquire a mare by, with his superb abilities and ability to pass on his talents to his offspring.
With Xehner, comes the Kid Clu and Impressive bloodlines that we are so incredibly happy to have aquirred with Sho My Zen. Kids Classic Style, Kid Clu, Obvious Conclusion, Conclusive, the list goes on and on with outstandingly conformed horses and their own abilities to pass on the "producing gene". With halter greats such as this, it comes as no surprise that Sho My Zen shows superior conformation and type. With her Impressive bloodlines, we couldn't have gotten luckier to add on such amazing good looks and total speed into the package of this dynamite little mare. Origionally bred for racing, Impressive's inherited HYPP gene enabled him to grow to a massive size and dominate the halter industry with his own looks and those of his foals. It now goes to show that he not only can produce good looking horses, but that his genes still carry the racing blood that he was meant for.
Sho My Zen's dam, Rev that Sho, was herself a very good performer and is now showing to be an exellent producer as well with her foals all coming along extremely well in the show world. Rev that Sho did extremely well in her Cutting and Reining deubts, again leaving no doubt why Sho My Zen performs so well. Rev that Sho is also put together extremely nice, and her pedigree is nothing to look down upon.
With Rev that Sho come some of the most prolific quater horse bloodlines that one could ask for, period. Her sire, Sho Stopper was another prolific SIM showhorse and sire, with numerous titles, championships, etc. in numerous working western disciplines and has proven his prowess as a performer. His sire career has definately seemed to take the same path with numerous, very talented, and accomplished foals and producers.
With Rev that Sho, we could go on for days upon days. Her maternal grandsire, Reminic, is a houshold name in the Quarter Horse industry, and for good reason. With his own established dynasty of outstanding reining and western competitio nhorses, Reminic is a truly great horse. As great as Reminic was, he stands no where near that of Doc Bar, found numerous times through Sho My Zen's pedigree, who is truly a Quarter Horse legend. Doc Bar himself never accomplished much as a performance horse as he was said to have "two left feet". What he lacked in movement, he made up for in the breeding shed as he is perhaps the most celebrated cutting and reining horse sire in modern history. His get continue to dominate the industry with their outstanding will and drive, and it seems as if his legacy will not end.
Another great horse from Rev that Sho's pedigree is the almighty Peponita, Hall of Fame, World Champion, and outstanding producer. Peponita was an extremely well bred stallion sired by another legend, the great Peppy San, and the maternal grandsire of Poco Tivio. Again, with bloodlines like these, we expect horribly great things from Sho My Zen as her pedigree boasts champion after champion and the production of heart, will, and desire. As Xena shows today, as her ancestors have before, she has the drive and the want to do well for her rider, and perhaps the desire for glory.
